Ways to Volunteer

Be the troop leader that supports her every week—the one that watches her smile get bigger as she grows more confident. Mentor a Girl Scout Cookie Professional during cookie season so she can earn enough to reach the goals she and her troop set. Or work with other adults to provide the kind of behind-the-scenes support that makes it possible for her to make amazing new memories at Girl Scouts.

Whether you can give a few hours, a few weeks, or a few months, volunteering with Girl Scouts is flexible and fun.

Volunteer Roles


Troop Leader, Troop Admin, Troop Program Guide

Work with a group of girls and mentor them as they make new friends and develop connections that will last a lifetime.

Assist with driving, activity planning, snacks, money management, or other tasks necessary to keep the troop running oh-so-smoothly from week to week.

Troop Product Sale Manager - Cookie or MSP

Coordinate the annual cookie sale or magazine & snack sale at the troop level. Set up cookie booths, manage inventory and money, and then watch the girls light up when they earn the rewards for being the best cookie sellers ever!

Service Unit Volunteers                                
The service team is a group of committed, focused, and passionate volunteers who fulfill their roles to the best of their abilities.

The Service Unit Director serves as an advocate for Girl Scouting in the community, and provides direction and support for the service team and troops.

The Service Unit Organizer mentors new and existing volunteers and provides support for individually registered girls.

The Service Unit Registrar educates and assists others with membership registration, renewal, lifetime membership, and the criminal background check process.

The Service Unit Recruiter promotes opportunities for girls and adults to join Girl Scouts and coordinates recruitment events.
